Institute of Applied Psychology (IAP), University of the Punjab was established in 1962 as Department of Applied Psychology by Prof Dr. Ghulam Jillani (late). IAP has flaunted the galore prestige of University of the Punjab by serving as premier center of academia, research and community services and has maintained global recognition from past many decades. The Institute is led by Prof. Dr. Rafia Rafique and is cherished as hub of productive activities to uplift the status of Psychology in Pakistan in wider domains of specializations such as Clinical and counseling psychology, Organizational psychology, Forensic Psychology, Positive Psychology, Developmental psychology, Sports psychology just to name a few. By dint of its acclaimed academic and research expertise, Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan selected it for Up-gradation and strengthening and very soon the Institute expanded its’ horizon and degree programs diversified into BS (4 years), MSC, M.Phil, MS (Health Psy.) and PhD Program, calibrated in alignment to International Standards. Due to wider popularity of IAP, huge number of admission request are received, authenticating it as most preferred Institute for Psychology studies in Pakistan. A prolific database of accomplished professionals as IAP Alumni, and currently serving wider domains of services, establishes the contribution that IAP is rendering in students’ lives. Prof. Dr. Rafia Hassan, Prof. Dr. Seemen Alam, Prof. Dr. Najma Najam, Prof. Dr. Ruhi Khalid, Prof. Dr. Hamid Sheikh, Dr Mian Aftab, Prof. Dr. Yasmin Farooqi, Prof. Dr. Rukhsana Kausar, Prof. Dr. Farah Malik, Prof. Dr. Firdaus-e-Bareen and Dr. Iram Fatima have been the Directors of the Institute of Applied Psychology. Currently, Prof. Dr. Rafia Rafique is the Director of the Institute of Applied Psychology.
