Confucius Institute

Confucius Institute at University of the Punjab (CIPU) is established on July 2, 2015, with the approval of the Confucius Institute Headquarters / Hanban. Institute is located in Lahore, Pakistan's most populous, economically and culturally most developed city, created with the MOU between University of the Punjab in Pakistan and Jiangxi University of Science and Technology in China. It's the 4th Confucius Institute in Pakistan where the One road One belt initiative is involved. And China and Pakistan has the long-standing traditional friendship, China and Pakistan Economic Corridor (CEPC) reinforces the ties of two countries and it attracts more Pakistani to learn Chinese language and culture. Founded in 1882, University of the Punjab is one of the oldest universities in Pakistan, with the largest population and the most developed economy. It has 3 Nobel Prize winners, the largest number of Pakistani students , In 2016, Pakistan HEC University Rankings, the University of the Punjab comprehensive ranked No. 2. Jiangxi University of Science and Technology was founded in 1958 and it's China's non-ferrous metal industry and iron and steel industry important personnel training and scientific research base, known as "non-ferrous metallurgy talent cradle." Typical Experience of Graduates' Employment in China: "Top 50 Universities". Typical Experience of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in China: "Top 50 Universities". In 2012 China "world top 500" CEO graduation ranking and shared for fifth with Tsinghua University. University of the Punjab covers 26,000 mu in square. More than 800 square meters area for life and cultural venues is allotted for CIPU. The institute mainly provides Chinese education, cultural promotion and cultural exchanges and other projects and activities. It was initial starting from March 2016.
