Dr. Saba Irshad (Assistant Professor, School of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, University of the Punjab) has recently completed her one year Post doctoral fellowship in the molecular genetics of rare genetic disorders from Columbia University, New York, USA. She was the awardee of HEC Post Doctoral Fellowship (Phase III)-Batch 2. Dr.Saba Irshad obtained her M.Sc., M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Department of Biological Sciences Quid-e-Azam University Islamabad. She has also received gold medal in her M.Phil. from Quaid-e-Azam University Islamabad. She. She is not only teaching BS/MSc, M.Phil. and Ph.D. courses but also supervising M.Phil. and Ph.D. students in School of Biochemistry and Biotechnology. She has supervised 40 M.Phil. and 08 Ph.D. students. Currently she is working in collaboration with international research scientists on neurodevelopmental disorders and rare genetic disorders. She is working in partnership with health care professionals, and affected Pakistani families with genetic disorders for their genetic counselling and disease awareness.
